This is a digital map, full of overnight hikes that are suitable for visiting with kids. You need to buy via thatch to gain access to the app. This is building on 8+ years worth of work to have visited with kids in tow, and then compiled all this info into one easy to read guide. Containing DOC huts, huts owned by councils, trusts, and other groups available for public use, as well as child-friendly hike-to camping spots. This is an amazing resource, and combines so much knowledge into one place. It will save you so much time in researching suitable locations.

The locations all have extra details about hut, track, access (Including private phone numbers to ring if needed), and more. This is the ultimate guide to answering the question: "Where shall I take my kids overnight hiking?!"

The map is interactive to easily see what is around you. 

With over 150 locations added already, this is constantly being updated. Not all huts have written descriptions yet, but 2 new descriptions are currently being most weekdays.

This map is designed to be used as a companion to "My Overnight Adventure Journal". It contains huts from the books, (as well as SO many others), and contains extra info aimed at parents that couldn't fit into the books - such as how long the track ACTUALLY took us with kids, and how they found it. 

Locations are coded into 3 categories:

STAY: Huts you can hike, bike, kayak, or boat to. Between 5 minutes to 4 hours walk. (Further away huts will be added in future)

GO: Huts you can drive, or 4WD to. 

DO: Campsites or wild camping locations you can hike, bike, kayak, or boat to. Between 5 minutes to 4 hours walk.
