Waged or Unwaged?

Want to gain some ideas, knowledge, and inspo for your urban garden? Want to grow a huge amount of food and live as self-sufficiently as possible but also only live on a regular urban section?

We live on 698m2. From this garden we harvested well over 500kg of food in the 2023/2024 season, with a $ value over $6,500. I use as natural practices as possible and work with nature in the garden, so it won't look like the usual manicured gardens you may be used to.

This is a video garden tour, especially for those who cannot make it out. If you can make it in person, would definitely recommend this more. (In person tours here)

This garden started off in its current shape at the end of 2018 with almost no gardening knowledge. See what’s possible in just over 6 years while raising young kids.

I point out some of the good and some of the not so ideal decisions we made. It's an amazing way to get some ideas for how to make the most of small spaces.

Our garden is in New Zealand, so you'll have to switch your months over and South / North out if you're in the northern hemisphere, but it's still a useful way to see the layout and productivity of a small garden. We live in approx USDA zone 8. Our first frost is normally in April, and our last frost is normally in November. The footage was filmed in early March.

Video is 1hr19 minutes, with bonus drone footage to give a better idea of layout and scale.

Please note, as much as I love sharing info and inspo for free, this video tour did take me time and energy to make. I also don't want to publicly share all the details and layouts of our home and garden, hence why it is behind a paywall. I have set 2 prices, waged and unwaged. Unwaged is for the stay at home parents, students, etc. Waged is the price for those who are working full time. This helps me to keep the pricing affordable, but also helps me to actually meet the cost of things we can't grow ourselves for our own family.

Pricing is in NZD.
